Rotary Tattoo Machine CNC Q2 Review
I received the rotary tattoo machine CNC-Q2 about 6-7 months ago(May or June of 2020) and I have used this rotary tattoo pen heavily! When I say heavily I mean heavily, long hours heavy! The CNC-Q2 quickly became my GO TO tattoo machine and I wanted to take some time and share my experiences with the CNC team and tattoo artists around the world. I will give my honest review of the rotary tattoo machine CNC Q2 in terms of design (appearance, weight, feel of use), working experience, etc.
Rotary tattoo machine CNC Q2 review: the design
The Q2 size, shape, and build alone allow this machine to be my GO TO tattoo machine, but allow me to elaborate further for you.
The size of the rotary tattoo pen CNC Q2 is small and compact, but not small enough to feel small when holding in my hand upon tattooing. I personally like to fold a paper towel into a rectangle and wrap it around the grip, while wrapping my grip tape around the napkin to build a larger grip. This approach to me allows the CNC Q2 to sit and feel great in my hand upon tattooing. I also like to use a wireless power supply which runs great paired with the Q2.

Rotary tattoo machine CNC Q2 review: Structure & Quality
The build of the CNC Q2 tattoo machines feels of great quality and looks like they haven’t aged a day since I got them. That’s right, “them”. I loved my first CNC-Q2 so much that I had to purchase myself another. Upon receiving my first Q2, I had used it for about a week until I decided to have another. So I went ahead and picked up another Q2 so I could have my own pair. I feel very very confident I will use these machines for the foreseeable future because of the build quality alone.
The body is made with aviation aluminum which allows me to easily disassemble the machine and sterilize it for my next tattoo session. The process is next to effortless for me. The body comes apart into 3 different pieces, the grip, the body, and the motor housing. When I disassemble the CNC Q2, I simply put the motor portion aside and sterilize the body and grip. It takes me about 5 minutes.
From sterilization to performance, the Q2 has truly exceeded my expectations and you can see me use it time and time again on my YouTube channel @DanielYuck.
Which brings me to the next point I would like to touch base on. The Q2’s performance!
Working performance review of tattoo pen CNC Q2
I have used the Q2 on silicone practice skins, rubber felt practice skins, plastic dolls & human skin. Yes, it’s true! You can see my test work at the bottom of the post. The idea was to push the envelope and test the power and performance of the Q2. All of these materials I listed from silicone to hard toy plastic all accepted the ink that the Q2 pushed into it, and with ease, I’ll add. The CNC Q2 has a powerful Faulhaber motor which allows me to achieve super fine lining with bug pin 3 round liners, thick bold lining with round shaders, smooth shading with mags, pepper shading with super tight liners, I can even pack black with ease, and I have packed color with the Q2 tattoo machine and it performed flawlessly on all of these tasks. I have run the Q2 for hours and I mean hours on end and the tattoo machine never got hot or warm no matter using a wirelessly or grounded power supply. The Q2 rotary tattoo machine never had any sort of hiccups, or malfunctions for me upon using and this is for both of my current Q2’s. I am also able to push really large mags with the Q2 and it does this flawlessly!
Upon searching for a tattoo machine I saw that the Q2 had everything I would want from a tattoo machine. For me, I want easy sterilization, easy to maintain, high-quality build, high-quality motor, and a workhorse of a machine.
I wanted a machine that would be able to handle whatever I needed it to handle. I needed a machine that would be able to handle whatever I threw at it. The CNC Q2 rotary tattoo pen met all of these expectations.
Improvements for CNC Q2
Due to the Q2’s simplistic and intuitive design, it hard to find something that I don’t like about the Q2. One thing I did notice was that, the threading that connects the motor to the body is super fine. That means you should be careful when screwing the motor back onto the body. I think that’s truly the only thing I can say in terms of what can be better about the Q2. Possibly even offering different grips maybe something awesome as well, but that is just me thinking out loud.

How many stars would I rate for the rotary tattoo gun CNC Q2? I would give the CNC-Q2 a definite 5 stars because of the Faulhaber motor, compact size, high-quality build, easy sterilization process, affordable price, and 1-Whole-Year Quality Warranty. Hands down 5 stars easy and I say that confidently with countless HOURS using the Q2 under my belt.
